Ok so this weekend was busy busy busy for me! Saturday I had to rush to my old beauty salon where I did my beauty therapy :) anyway it was SUCH a loooonggg story so I'm not gonna get into it but luck was on my side that day! Met up with one of my girlies who I haven't seen in monthhssss, had din dins and completely forgot that I had a birthday dinner that night *idiot* ...Unfortunately I dont have any piks to show you guys what I wore in the evening :( ...anyway here's what I wore during the day.

SATURDAY

So here as you can see I have gone for a more dramatic look, not deliberately, I did the last post about how bored I was with the same look...I've got less eye make up on and I bought this new lipstick from Sleek called 'Cherry' I think it's such a love it or hate it colour, but I think I like it atm...I may change my mind sooooon :/ oh and its 3.99 :)

I was feeling my Versace t-shirt that day :) had to throw it on with a pair of black leggings and my black leather jacket, my chunky gold chain and my fav wedges :)

Nothing wow just a very laid back look for a day of running errands and a quick chinwag with a girlie

Versace T (mens) £14.99 from the Versace for HnM
Leather Jacket from HnM £22 (very old)
Boots from New Look £65 (very old)

SUNDAY

Ok so Sunday was a VERY important day for me, as I had an interview for the one and only Sophy Robson- if you dont know her GOOGLE HER! :) she's a very established nail artist, has her own salon and has worked with A LOT of celebs and has done loads and loads of photo shoots for magazines and has worked for LFW, is also sponsored by OPI and Revlon. Girl done goooooood. Anyway she has a new store opening in April and tweeted about it, so I took the chance to tweet her back, thinking I'd get ignored...I did for like two days THEN BAM! You have a tweet from Sophy Robson. I was ECSTATIC! She sent me her email and of course I sent her my CV and cover letter straight away! The next day she replied with 'your CV looks great and come for an interview'  I WAS SOOO HAPPY. Anyway went to the interview and it went GREAT she did demo's of her current work on another girls nails and asked me to do them...I did...and she said 'If this is how good you are then I'll give you the job today'. So yeah I think it went well :)

Anyway enough about that..this is what I wore..baring in mind I had to go to Chelsea... hahaha

Very BOLD and BRIGHT-literally everything :/ ohhhh welllllll...

So from the top-
I kinda overload on my make up sometimes...don't we all! Defo had to wear my cherry lipstick tho! Defo black bold eyes!
Aztec jumper from Forever21 £18
Blue Leather Jacket from HnM £25
Floral pants from New Look £34.99

I was feeling the summer vibe haha...No seriously I was, I dont usually do floral prints but these pants I just LOVE and my mustard jumper works very well with them :)print on print is very 'in' this SS season!

Jewelry for the day, ALL of them rings belong to my dear sister :) have no idea where she got them from but  I think I'm going to have that spiraly one yup!
Of course my nails had to be sorted ;)

Oh and here's what i tweeted that morning about Chelsea, I honestly don't know what to make of the area :/

Yes. this crazy drunken old bag called me a slag. MAJOR LOLS

At the end of a very productive day, oh and I'm actually loving my short hair atm :) I had very loose big curls!

Not All That Glitters Is Gold...

New outfit post guys! It's what I wore today (Mother's Day). I didn't have that much time to plan an outfit so I kinda threw something together. Yeah the prints clash and the trainers don't really have anything to do with the outfit...but that's what I kinda love about it in a strange way. Anyway, decide for yourselves! :)

I'm wearing:

- Leopard print top from H&M (really old)
- Chain print skirt from Asos (also really old)
- Nike Blazers from Office.
- Gold belt worn as necklace from New Look (really really old)

I also bought a new nail varnish from Urban Outfitters. It was an impulse buy as it was by the till. And although it was £6 I'm definitely not regretting it.

Oh yeah...food.

Chicken, lamb, Yorkshire puddings, rice, red beans, macaroni pie and salad. We also had roti which wasn't pictured. I really think my grandparents want me rolling around the place lol

My mum also baked cupcakes for the first time. She ended up baking 50...so imagine 15 people in a house all buzzing off sugar from these lol

Hope you enjoyed

Lots of love

So good it hurts.

The last time I did a sort of 'what I'm listening to now' kind of post it was quite popular...so I thought I'd do another one! Its in no particular order, there are no particular genres (but I won't lie, it's mostly R&B and hip hop). It's just what I'm loving right now :)

Don't forget to post your top ten below when you're done listening!

1)

Missy Elliott ft Nas - Hot Boyz

I don't really feel like I need to say anything except...Missy Elliott. Nas. Perfect.

2)

Kendrick Lamar - Look Out For Detox

I remember some time last year Lemara told me about Kendrick Lamar and was just like "blah, whatever...he's nothing special." How bloody wrong was I?

3)

Iggy Azalea - Pu$$y

Since Nicki has gone missing somewhere in the world of bland pop music, I've taken a shine to this female rapper. She's Australian, yet somehow sounds a bit like the female version of Yelawolf. Fast forward to 1 min for the song...and yes it's a tad explicit. As if you couldn't tell by title lol.

4)

Keyshia Cole ft Kanye West - I Changed My Mind.

Before Kanye REALLY blew up and Keyshia still had the terrible red weave.

5)

Daley ft Marsha Ambrosius - Alone Together

My new favourite artist. Also make sure you listen to his cover of 'Pretty Wings'. Its amazing.

6)

Robyn - Hang With Me

Robyn is actually so underrated and this hurts me. In my mind she's a musical genius because everything she writes is basically about my life lol.

7)

Dennis Brown - Ribbon In The Sky

Basically...Dennis Brown is a staple in every Jamaican household. His voice is beautiful and so is his cover of Stevie Wonder's 'Ribbon In The Sky'.

8)

Damien Marley ft Bobby Brown - Beautiful

Is it weird that I find Damien Marley kind of sexy? Lol. Leave answers below.

9)

Sade - By Your Side

I'm obsessed with this song. Sex and the City fans will remember it from that poolside scene when Samantha fell for Richard. Yes, I am an SATC addict.

10)

Usher - Climax

Couldn't end this post without this song. A big thank you to Usher for attempting to bring real music back.

*Round of applause*

Hope you liked the post and remember to leave your top 10 (or 5 if you're feeling lazy) below.

Lots of love

High Brow.

So this post is about the perfect eyebrow. I'm forever chasing the perfect shape, the perfect method of hair removal, the perfect pencil. And to be honest, I fail. I'd give my eyebrows 6/10 at best. I'm lazy, I can never be bothered to get them threaded, so for the most part I end up plucking them at home myself and then filling them in with eyebrow pencil e.g.

I know I can do so much better and I really think my face deserves better. I've watched many a youtube video but since I leave my house at 6:55am every morning, who really has the time to use pencil, eyeshadow and concealer to create the perfect brow?

I was losing all hope until a bit of internet browsing led me to *drum roll please*...HD Brows (High Definition Brows). They are a company which specialise in creating great eyebrows using a 7 step plan. Watch it below.

It looks pretty painful (combining threading, waxing and plucking), but who doesn't suffer for beauty? You'll need to search for someone who is fully trained in using this system and this can be found on their website. Yes its a bit pricey at anywhere from £25 to £40 but you only need to go back once a month, and for a lazy yet superficial girl like me, its the solution I've been looking for :)

Are you totally convinced? Let me know in the comments below :)

He Want That Cake.

So if anyone watched Jonathan Ross last night ( which I'm pretty sure most of you did), then you would have seen my ultimate girl crush/wifey/stye icon Rihanna. Sure, I may be getting a bit carried away but words can't actually describe how obsessed I am with her at the moment. She's bloody hot and if you follow her on Twitter you know that she's not fearful of how she is perceived. She's no Jazmine Sullivan when it comes to her voice, but who gives a damn? To be honest I'd be pretty happy staring at her all day.

But before I get carried away, let me get back to the reason I actually started writing this post. I wanted to focus on what Rihanna wore on Jonathan Ross and tell you where to buy it if you want to recreate the look.

Everything she wore was from Boy London. I will confess that I had never heard of this brand before but I love their motif and I'd definitely consider purchasing something from their line. Although you can't get the exact items Rihanna is wearing on their website (apart from the cap), I've picked out a few of the things that I'll probably buy next payday. These items range from £30 to £55. Not too shabby.

Oh how I hate being a slave to consumerism and great PR. Sigh.

Hope you like as much as I did!

It's Not My Fault I Look Like A Slut!

Hello Lovelies, I’m Niy (@CherrypieNi) and I’m so excited… and a bit nervous, to be doing a guest post for my fave blog, and my fave people…

I’m a 20 year old Law with French law and language student at UEA that spends an inordinate amount of time contemplating her navel… and of course, her wardrobe!

I’m a size 14, a happy, curvy, size 14 and thus all my clothes are size 14 or even 16. The point I’m making is that I do buy clothes that are actually my size; I do wear clothes that fit. And yet still the hems on my skirts look that little bit higher on me than my size 8 counterparts, likewise, my vest tops look that little bit skimpier on me than on my A cup counterparts.

Please note, I’m no Katie Price in the boob department, and no Nicki Minaj in the ass department, but I do alright! I would expect that my ass protrudes just as much as one would expect from a size 14 black girl, and I don’t meet many girls that are size 14 with much below a D cup, so why is it that clothing designers, manufacturers, and stores everywhere seem to have a different idea about the shape of your average size 14 woman?

It seems that as clothes go up in size they just get wider. Whilst I would assume that it would be common sense that hems ought to get that little bit longer, in order that the size 8 and the size 14 look about the same; in style and fit, on their respectively sized customers, clearly I am alone in this thought process! I’m not saying that as a size 14 I’d prefer to have less skin on show than I would were I a size 8, I’m trying to say that I’d like for the clothes I buy to accommodate for the fact that my size 14 ass is bigger than a size 8 one, and my dresses need that bit more length to stop my looking slutty.

Obviously my being bigger means I actually have more skin available to show! And I’m not asking that stores make concessions for that, at all. Maybe designers need to start sketching twice, once on a small figure, and once for the curvier figure, so that they can see where adjustments need to be made, PURELY so that the larger sizes fit the same as the smaller ones.

This is a problem close to my heart, and my headaches; a source of constant grief in my life! At sixth form we had a “3/4 of the thigh” rule, where skirts had to come at least that far down. 80% of the girls broke this rule but it was only the curvier girls, who had that little bit more thigh available to show, or who’s but poked out that little bit more, that were forced to don the latest treasure in the lost property, in order that they learn their lesson.

I’m no prude, I rarely wear tights on a night out (They just aren’t comfy!!!!!), I hate closed necklines (they make my face look like a moon) and I LOVE a good bodycon (Shift dresses make me look like a house). But these things don’t add up to looking like a slut! I’ve even started to adjust my day time wardrobe, opting for clothes that allow me to stay on trend but leave the sluttiness in the stores; the main conversion I’ve made is embracing the tube skirt. An amazing innovation, I now don’t have to worry about tugging at my h+m mini as the elderly look on, wondering why my mother never raised me right (and God knows she did!). But every time I wear one, I get at least one person ask me why I look so “smart” or “formal”!

The reality is that I dress perhaps even a bit more conservatively than your average student on a night out! Embracing blouses, long sleeves and loose fitting tops, in order to get some balance and not give off the wrong impression! Just recently I saw a beautiful leggy blonde in the TopShop high waist knicker-shorts, no tights. Now let’s picture this outfit with my borderline size 16 wonder woman thighs…. Got the picture?! As much as I would LOVE to wear such an outfit, I’m forced to shy away from many of fashion’s trends, because they aren’t designed with my size in mind, and what’s more society just aren’t ready to see me wearing the same things as a leggy size 8 blonde, without labelling me a slut… and it’s not just knicker shorts, it’s super short minis, 60s shift dresses without enough room in the bust area, or without enough length to protect my modesty, leggings that show a bit more wiggle or deep Vs designed for the flat chested!

Take this super cute, so beautiful I think it came from one of my Legally Blonde, meets Hairspray induced dreams… pastel floral shorts and blazer from River Island. The embodiment of the 60s spring trend…  As much as I adore it, I know I would never be able to bend over in it!

Yes there are websites and catalogues that do design their clothes with the fuller figure in mind; SimplyBe, Evans etc. But I’m 20 years old! A size 14 and a student! I just can’t bring myself to confine my wardrobe to such “specialist” stores alone, and my budget just couldn’t stand it! No. I’m going to keep on wearing my bodycon dresses, my HM £3.99 skirts, my patterned leggings and anything else I see fit!

No matter how much we steer clear of trends that forget that size 12+ exists, No matter how edgy we go, some of us just can’t help looking a lot more Nicki Minaj than Lady Gaga.
