High Brow.

So this post is about the perfect eyebrow. I'm forever chasing the perfect shape, the perfect method of hair removal, the perfect pencil. And to be honest, I fail. I'd give my eyebrows 6/10 at best. I'm lazy, I can never be bothered to get them threaded, so for the most part I end up plucking them at home myself and then filling them in with eyebrow pencil e.g.

I know I can do so much better and I really think my face deserves better. I've watched many a youtube video but since I leave my house at 6:55am every morning, who really has the time to use pencil, eyeshadow and concealer to create the perfect brow?

I was losing all hope until a bit of internet browsing led me to *drum roll please*...HD Brows (High Definition Brows). They are a company which specialise in creating great eyebrows using a 7 step plan. Watch it below.

It looks pretty painful (combining threading, waxing and plucking), but who doesn't suffer for beauty? You'll need to search for someone who is fully trained in using this system and this can be found on their website. Yes its a bit pricey at anywhere from £25 to £40 but you only need to go back once a month, and for a lazy yet superficial girl like me, its the solution I've been looking for :)

Are you totally convinced? Let me know in the comments below :)

I Poisoned Cupid Recommends...

Ok...I know a lot you have an addiction to Body Shop's Body Butter. They smell great, they usually work great AND they come in weird flavours like Satsuma and Hemp. (I'm not sure you can really describe body lotion as having a flavour but oh wells). I also used to think they were the greatest thing since sliced bread until one day I walked into Superdrug and discovered this...

I'm now basically obsessed and carry it EVERYWHERE with me. It comes in Strawberries & Milkshake, Coconut and Cream and Mango & Papaya. Each 'nourishing body butter' comes as part of a range which includes 'glossy lip balm', 'shower creme' and a 'shower smoothie' (which I really like the sound of). This is making me feel really hungry.

I've only gone with the Strawberries & Milkshake at first but I plan to try them all. What I love about this one is that its not too sickly sweet smelling, it includes coconut oil and shea butter and it's MEGA THICK (which is great for the winter months). If I put some on in the morning it'll last for at least half the day...which is saying something in these harsh conditions!

But lets not forget the most important deciding factor...the price!. And while you can expect to pay £12.50 for a tub of Body Shop's Body Butter, Superdrug's comes in at only £2.05! And I can honestly say that I prefer the Superdrug version (not just because I'm a cheapskate). I know people love to buy Body Shop because of the special feeling that comes tied up with the brand. But I'm seriously urging you to give Superdrug's 'nourishing body butter' a try. In fact buy the coconut or mango and let me know what its like! :)

Decisions: Rent or Weave

So this topic is really close to my heart and the title stems from a dilemma I've faced quite a few times.

I'm a girl who wears weave and when I used to wear brands like Premium Too/Now/Plus the cost wasn't so much of a big deal.

So Premium brands costs like generally cost around £30 or less per packet. I needed to use 2 packets and I'd usually be able to convince my mum to buy it for me since I was a broke student who wouldn't be able to concentrate on her studies unless her hair looked good. This worked for a while...

This is a picture of when I first had it done using Premium Too. It was 18", flat, silky and I loved it. However as anyone who's ever used Premium knows, after a few weeks the texture changes and it starts to shed. Honestly it really started to pxss me off. This is how it ended up looking...

It started to get bushy and shorter. I'd have to carry a brush everywhere with me to keep it under control.

So...I decided to do some research and find a weave that wouldn't betray me like this one had. I came across this...

It does everything it says on the tin...no shedding, washable, no tangling and the most important thing is that you could use heat on it without the hair becoming stiff. So exactly what am I complaining about?

Well...it cost £45 a packet (for only 14"). I needed two packets. I know its not Brazilian or Peruvian or whatever but I was a student with two overdrafts and a credit card. And with rent to pay. So obviously the sensible option would have been to get my arse out of PAKs and purchase a box of relaxer, instead of £90 worth of colour 1 weave? But this is me we're talking about so I bought the weave and learnt to ignore the sense of guilt that washed over me.

But now I slyly have to think about the causes. Did I feel like I couldn't live without my weave? Was I that insecure that I would break into my overdraft for extra inches of hair that weren't even mine? I honestly think I was hiding behind my hair. I felt like people would look at my weave and wonder what brand it was before they looked at my face.

On the other hand, did I buy it because I knew I could get away with it? Although in my head I had told myself I had made the choice between rent and weave (and rent lost), deep down I knew that when I was in financial trouble I could always ask my dad and he would bail me out. So technically I wasn't making a choice at all.

I have to ask myself the question...when I finally move out of my parents house and actually have the responsibilities of paying water bills and other rubbish adulty bills, will I still feel the need to choose my weave over anything else? Or will I finally grow up and sacrifice beauty for a comfortable life.

WHO AM I KIDDING?

Eyeliner is addictive!

So my dear Jade thinks her look is boring...to be honest I could never stop staring at her! But we all see ourselves differently to how others do, I personally think she's one of my only friend's who mixes and matches and tries new things A LOT.
But like I said we all have different views...

My make up problem is, I can't go anywhere without having my top liner on. (maybe some places are an exception, e.g corner shop or at home lol). When I was a lot younger I think about 16 my sister tried it on me and I was like HELL NO GIRLFRIEND! My eye's just looked even bigger, (and that was not a good look lol)

As I got older I starting using more make up and trying out different products, so when I started doing top eyeliner I got addicted (and practice makes perfect!)

Here's a few pictures of how I used to do it before, and how I do it now...

This isn't the best of pictures I could find, but as you can see I started the line from the inner corner of my eye. This is how I started doing the top liner, with time I realized its not the best of looks lol.

Now I start the line on the tip of where my lashes start so it looks more in line with the shape of my eye. As you can see the flick at the end I like it quite high because it give's more shape and lifts my eyes at the same time. I have a bit of a droop at the bottom of my eye :/ ... YES MY LASHES ARE REAL. :)

In this picture I've got less mascara on, also I've made the line a lot thinner but longer, and I haven't put any inside eye liner on (which I don't usually do)

Here instead of putting black eyeliner on the inside I have put green eye shadow on to bring out the brown in my eyes.

Ok here I have taken the flick to a next level lol, I like to be a bit extreme sometimes...

Finally this is where I have absolutely no eyeliner. If I was brave enough I'd do this look more often but I'm always afraid of looking tired or too natural, what I've done is just used a neutral yellow on the top and on the inside is a metalic baby blue and added a bit of mascara.

Like Jade I would love to try different looks but I'm really not that brave to do it, I just stick to what I'm used to and what I know looks good... Which is a bit boring!!!

Liptastic!!!

So on twitter, I saw that it was National Kissing Day (google doesn't seem to agree).

It got me thinking about the things we put on our lips to make them look pretty. And whether we're making the right choices. Are our lip choices seducing men or scaring them away?

So everyone knows I'm partial to a bit of bright lipstick. Preferably red or hot pink.

Yes, its Queen Beyonce.

Yes, red looks extremely sexy. And yeah it will get men to notice you. They're going to think your dangerous and risky, possibly slutty...and all those other fake connotations that come along with the colour red. HOWEVER, when they think about kissing you all they're going to think about is being left with a smeared clown make up look.

So, yeah you could go for a lipgloss like my favourite by Revlon:

Guys, this lipgloss is the shizbang. #imjustsaying

It makes your lips look plump and shiny and glamourous, and makes them LOOK very kissable. BUT as you and I both know, lipgloss can be as sticky as a tramps underarms. Not exactly ideal is it.

The perfect solution to having perfectly kissable lips comes down to these three:

1) Use a liptint or stain. It gives you colour but its more of a matte finish, and it'll stay on all day. Its not 'juicy' if you know what I mean so it won't end up all over his cheeks, neck and chin. I suggest these by Maybelline. Its called Colour Sensational Lipstain.

2) the second product you can use is Carmex. Its quite thick, but its colourless and leaves your lips extremely soft. There's something about that yellow tube that people can't seem to resist, even though its not necessarily the best product out there at the moment.
3) And last but not least...*drum roll please*...Vaseline! Ok, so its made out of petroleum, which is extremely bad for your lips in the long run. But I'm a fan of short term pleasure, and vaseline most certainly fulfils that need. Go for the cocoa butter scented one...Its just the bestest.

Lots of love,

NAILS!!!

Here come the nails!

It's been ages now since I last wrote anything! I apologize :(

The thing is, I've actually been trying to upload a quick tutorial on how to do leopard prints, but  somehow it just doesn't work. Don't worry guys I'll find out a way to get it posted cause I know how much you girls (and guys) wanna DIY!

But here's a collection of my favorite brands in nail varnish, and also a couple snaps of my nail art.

TOPSHOP

Topshop nail varnish's are only a fiver not too expensive, but not so cheap either, so your stuck in the middle :/ but honestly they are so worth the penny! they even glow when its kind of dark! one coat and your sorted!

 BARRY M

Barry M, of course have been the best for many girls out there, cheap in price and also do a great job, only problem which I find in Barry M is some colours you have to add a few coats to get the strong bold look, and also the big problem is the do get a bit blodgy (if that's even a word lol) quite quick. Quick tip I can give you guys is to add a lil tad of nail varnish remover to the colour and give it a little shake and bob's your uncle!

NAIL EFFECTS

The Barry M nail effects, its like Marmite...you either love it or you hate it.  I personally think it looks quite cool on, but a lot of girls seem to disagree. For me it works great, on my lazy days or if I have no time to do designs I just whack it on! It's only 3.99!

Here are all my little bits and pieces

Kim Kardashian Inspired Look!

So I'm totally in love with Kim Kardashian, and I don't think I'm the only one.
Many of us girls love to have hair as long as hers, and eyebrows as thick as hers, and to look stunning just like her.  Basically we just wanna be her, no one can say she's not hot, cause that would really be hating, SHE IS AMAZING I HATE HER.

Anyway, for all you Kim wannabe's out there (this includes me) here is Huda, she is amazing when it comes to make up and hair, almost any make up and hair style you want, she can teach you! She inspires me so much, and she kinda resembles Kim don't you think? I LOVE HUDA!

Here's the video to how you can do your make up just like Kim's! Check Huda out for plenty more hair and beauty tips! And also keep up to date with our blog for the latest fashion and beauty trends and tips ;)
