Watching Out For Watches...

Everyone knows I'm the proud new owner of a Michael Kors watch because I've rammed it down everyone's throats already...but I just wanted to show you guys different ways to wear your watch...

The classic way...

Ignore my dressing gown lol. Wearing it this way means that you can see the watch in all its glory, every minute detail. Its great when you're aiming for simplicity or when you're already wearing a busy outfit.  And that's all good...unless...you're me. I get bored easily and have to wear depressing 'teacher-ry' clothes at work, which means I'm also looking for new ways to accessorise. If I can't have cleavage then I'm definitely going to go over the top somewhere else in my outfit.

So I decided to introduce some cheap bracelets I picked up from Primark back in October. They were only  about £1 each but they're pretty. It kind of turns my watch from corporate to boho chic. In fact, more people have noticed my watch in conjunction with this bracelets than when I wear it on its own. Have a looksie...

Hope you think my experimentation has worked...otherwise this could be a lil bit embarrassing lol

Also here's my 'best of the rest' i.e. others watches I also lusted after while searching for this one.

A 'Nixon' watch. £460 from Net A Porter. Its out of my price range but a girl can dream right?

Casio watch. £40 from John Lewis. I love the vintage feel of this.

ToyWatch. £165 from John Lewis. For chose who are attention whores (like me). They come in a range of bright colours and are definitely very nostalgic...reminds me of something I would have worn in Primary school.

Hope you like! :D

What Mascara do you use?!?!?!

Hello my cute lil peanuts! Hope you guys have had a blast to the new year! I sure have :)

So today I'm gonna tell you guys what mascaras I've been using through my lifetime (cause I'm a granny aren't I -_-?). I get asked a lot what mascaras I use and I don't want to sound like a big head AT ALL lol but for my lashes the mascara doesn't really matter because I naturally have long lashes.  The only thing I see a difference in is the texture and thickness when I use different ones, so this is what I look at when it comes to buying mascaras.

At the moment I'm using Maybelline Colossol Cat Eyes Mascara

My eyelashes have a natural curl to them, but this mascara defo gives them that extra lift.

Positives:

  • Lengthens lashes by x3
  • Curls your lashes
  • Separates them to look naturally long
  • Doesn't clump eyelashes
  • Eyelashes feel soft
Negatives:
  • Doesn't thicken eyelashes as much (I apply a few layers I do! :P)
  • Does finish quick :(

In these two pictures I have different mascaras on. Can you tell the difference?

Like I said the only things I look at for mascaras is whether they will make my lashes look thicker, so here's a list of ones which have done a great job in curling lengthening and thickening.

I do tend to stick to the same brand, so yeah  I use a lot of  Maybelline mascara.  But they do a great job!
This mascara was ok, not the best because it didn't really thicken my lashes as much as I wanted it to. I did stupidly buy it in a brown colour, so it didn't really get used much lol
Im in LOVE with this Rimmel mascara, it does such a great job! Really good for those nights out  where you want to have SCANDALEYES! ;)
This bad boy gave you SPIDERLASHES! But  it's really clumpy! what I like to do is  after applying, use a thinner mascara brush to remove the clumps.

Any questions you guys have feel free to ask! :)

Pots of love!

I Poisoned Cupid Recommends...

Ok...I know a lot you have an addiction to Body Shop's Body Butter. They smell great, they usually work great AND they come in weird flavours like Satsuma and Hemp. (I'm not sure you can really describe body lotion as having a flavour but oh wells). I also used to think they were the greatest thing since sliced bread until one day I walked into Superdrug and discovered this...

I'm now basically obsessed and carry it EVERYWHERE with me. It comes in Strawberries & Milkshake, Coconut and Cream and Mango & Papaya. Each 'nourishing body butter' comes as part of a range which includes 'glossy lip balm', 'shower creme' and a 'shower smoothie' (which I really like the sound of). This is making me feel really hungry.

I've only gone with the Strawberries & Milkshake at first but I plan to try them all. What I love about this one is that its not too sickly sweet smelling, it includes coconut oil and shea butter and it's MEGA THICK (which is great for the winter months). If I put some on in the morning it'll last for at least half the day...which is saying something in these harsh conditions!

But lets not forget the most important deciding factor...the price!. And while you can expect to pay £12.50 for a tub of Body Shop's Body Butter, Superdrug's comes in at only £2.05! And I can honestly say that I prefer the Superdrug version (not just because I'm a cheapskate). I know people love to buy Body Shop because of the special feeling that comes tied up with the brand. But I'm seriously urging you to give Superdrug's 'nourishing body butter' a try. In fact buy the coconut or mango and let me know what its like! :)

Bleach or no Bleach...that is the question.

As we all know I like to be rather 'creative' with my hair...in this post I will take you through my journey of hair colours and cuts in the past few months. (yes past few months! I get bored -__-)

So it all started about a year ago, BEFORE Rihanna decided to go red, I tried to convince my friends to all go red with me, and I mean bright red, I almost had it until Rihanna ruined it all!! (I STILL LOVE HER THO) Basically the whole world decided to do the same, and hell no was I going to follow that crowd! So I waited...

The first major change I did to my hair was the famous 'dip dye' as I always liked to dye my natural dark hair black, this was a very hard job. My poor hair had to go through A LOT of bleach. But before that heres where it started.

This is me, long thick dark hair...

This look I was always rocking and kinda got bored...

First session of D.I.Y 'ing my own hair.

I didn't really get many photos with the dip dyed hair. Think its cause it didn't last so long lol, cause the next stop was what your about to see...

I was left alone with a few more packs of bleach and this is what happened lol...

As you can see the bottom I left dip dyed, but honestly I have no idea what possessed me to bleach the sides cause this is what it looked like if I tied my hair up... NUTJOB

Don't know how I'm sharing this picture with the world! #CRINGE

Obviously this didn't last, especially not when I looked like a complete idiot!... So I thought hey! It's been a year since Rihanna was last seen red, and now shes gone brown, less people are red, why don't I go red?!! Yes I did it. And yes it went wrong again. It kinda turned into something that should have NEVER happened, it only took a single picture for me to realise what a big mistake it was, and this is the picture...

MY HAIR IS ORANGE.

Yes the dip dyed part became orange and the rest of the hair which I bleached and then added the red, only slightly took the colour. This look was the biggest downfall and I was absolutely embarrassed of my life! LOLS
So I decided to go back to black... the top half of my hair I dyed black and the bottom I bleached yet again *I know shoot me now* and then I left a bit of purple dye on it for literally 10 seconds, this is the look I came with and was quite happy in the end.

The lilac under the jet black looked cool as f***, I absolutely loved it, best thing I did myself LOL, everyone was like 'Oh wow your hair's so cool!' But yes being Mitra's hair something HAD to go wrong, the bottoms which had been bleached had now started to break really really badly and the colour started fading. So of course me being me, I had to make yet another drastic change. Few phone calls later I decided my lovely locks will be chopped off! How short was I going to go, I did not know, that I was going to decide at the hair dressers. So the day I made my way to the salon, I didn't tell anyone, BUT I bumped into lovely Jade at the bus stop (I know what a coincidence?!) No seriously it actually wasn't planned. So she came along and gave me a little support, I was crying the whole journey there! LOL JK! As the hairdresser was about to chop away I screamed 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!' and she stopped and said if your going to cut your hair you may as well make it look different, you don't want to pay for something you cant even notice yourself, Jade agreed with her and so I let her do her thannggg. It took a while for me to get used to but boyyyy was I not liking it! Strangely everyone loved it :/ here it is...

This look was probably the look that lasted the longest, it was easy to control and didn't need much time used on it, but (yes another but) I couldn't do much with it apart from straighten it, and the black was washing out and it all got really boring for me, so I decided to change the colour one more time! I've always wanted to be bright red for a very long time, and now that my hair had got really short I thought it really was time. But one thing I'll tell all you girls and guys, if you are not a qualified hair dresser then please don't attempt to dye your own hair a really bright colour, especially not if you have dyed your hair black before. It will come out wrong TRUST ME, and loads of bleach is so bad for your hair SO SO BAD. Anyway I did go back to my salon and told them I want to go red, it took almost six hours for the colour to come out right, and this is because of the black.

Yes I get weird looks from the older generation but everyone else seems to love it (mother gave me the dirtiest look of life though LOL) And this colour I will be staying for a while :) only because I really need my hair to chill for a bit. It really is breaking due to all the bleach but I'm taking loads and loads of care of it!

So there you go folks! My time of hair dying and cutting! Remember take good care of your hair because once its got too much in it then there's no going back, your hair is precious! Stay away from bleach its evetyone's enemy!!

Here are a few pictures at random times to actually show you guys the drastic changes I went through!

Hope you guys enjoyed this! :D
Lots of love and hugs!!
Meechi baby!!
