Make-up review: guest post!!!

Hi guys!  I’m Naomi Angus , the lovely ladies at my favourite blog ‘I Poisoned Cupid’ asked if I would like to do a guest post!! The answer was of course….YES! :D

I am 18 years old and currently studying Tourism Management at Canterbury Christ Church university, like many females across the world I love fashion and anything beauty related! ( give me youtube , fashion blogs and some Ben & Jerry’s and I can disappear for hours haha!) but singing, travel and make up are my main passions!

This is me…

As I previously stated I love beauty and skincare and I shall be writing today about a product I have bought recently…

This product is “they’re real! Mascara” by Benefit

Retailing at £18 this is by far the most expensive mascara I’ve gotten!  (Thank goodness for Debenhams gift cards ;)

It comes in a box with instructions which was quite a surprise to me because I mean how hard can it be to apply…right? For full false lash effect you have to move the wand horizontally across your lashes and then vertically with the cool spikes on the end of the tip. It sounds dramatic but literally after one stroke I was amazed at how long my lashes looked! They didn't look too thick but after a few more applications I got my desired effect!

My left eye has no mascara and my right eye has two coats! Pretty cool right!

Both eyes with two coats.

This is an excellent mascara! Great coverage with the wand, minimum clumping and gives lashes a great pretty! Would I buy it again? Sure! ...if I get another gift card! Hey I’m a student!:P

If you have the money I would say to definitely give this mascara a try as it is well worth it! I definitely think some make up products are worth spending more on, for example MAC foundation would be a great investment but things like eyeliner and lip balm I personally wouldn’t splash out on.

Stay fabulous J

Viva La Inspiration on Brick Lane!

So today Mitra and I went to Spitafields Market and Brick lane for a bit of fashion inspiration/shopping. (Shhhh don't tell my mum about the shopping part).

First up we went to an amazing jewellery stall where we bought these matching rings because we're sad fabulous like that.

Modelled on Mitra's fingers since I hate mine.

The 'BITCH' ring cost £13, and although its not real silver the colour doesn't wear off, so its kinda worth the price. The scrabble ring was £5 but you can find them cheaper on ebay.

However, little did we realise that 10 seconds around the corner lay another jewellery stall by the name of 'Bitsch Kitsch'. They do amazing pieces and have even been featured in several publications. Here's a link to their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bitsch-Kitsch/145595332197198?sk=wall

We took a few pictures of the things we found there:

Most of the rings are handmade and are £4 each. Which I think is pretty damn good!

Brick lane is also full of the weird and the wonderful - including the artwork. We stopped and took a few pics just because it tickled our fancy. (Did I really just say that?) lol

There was also this weird car alien thing which I don't understand but I'm also not complaining about.

We also stopped off at this little vintage shop which mostly sold knitted jumpers and velvet from the 80s. You know, the kind of things our mums wore and thought they looked hot. Mitra picked up this purple/cream jumper. I wasn't so sure...

Do you think she ended up buying it or not?

By the way did I mention that we both turned up in the same shoes. Red Vans...I guess great minds really do think alike.

So like the vain girls that we are we HAD to take a few pictures. Because a day out in our lives does not go undocumented. We'll definitely cherish this when we're old and wrinkly...but still fashionable :)

The day ended with Curry Mutton and smiles all around.

THE END.

Lots of love

Blowing Money Fast (on Oxford St)

On Friday I got paid and yesterday I somehow managed to blow a quarter of my paycheck on ONE shopping session...when I fully well know that this won't be the only time I go shopping this month week.

But since I did it, I thought I may as well tell/show you some of what I bought.

Firstly, I added to my collection of pencil skirts.

Its from River Island and its £22. River Island actually do the best pencil skirts because they're jersey and hug your body properly. I suggest that you get it in a size below your normal because they do stretch a tiny bit after a few wears.

Next up...red Van's!

I've been lusting over these for ages. I felt a bit weird paying £40 for basically a glorified plimsoll, but I'm a working woman now so I deserve it lol. Remember the days in Secondary school where most people thought Van's should only be worn by 'Indie kids or Emo's'. They used to be much cheaper then, but now because everyone and his dog wants a pair (including me), the price has been  driven right up.

Bought a pair of black and white leggings from H&M, but I might return them since my mum said I looked like a circus clown in them.

Also for the big boobed girls like me, instead of spending £28 on a bra from Bravissimo, go to Debenhams instead. They still have brands like Freya but they also do multi-packs, like these which were 2 for £18,

They're also really good quality and the cleavage it gives is INSANE!

Bought a few other items which you'll probably have no interest in like some sale items from RI and New Look and star tights, french knickers and loads of little bracelets from Primark hell on earth.

Also since I know everyone was holding their breath in suspense about this, MY JACKET FROM TOPSHOP FINALLY ARRIVED. I now feel like that bitch. Although one day maybe I'll be able to afford real leather -__-

Westfield: More than just a great food court?

Hey hey!

So today my mum, grandma, cousin and I decided to descend onto Westfield: Stratford. To me the best thing about the new Westfield is the food court on floor one...since most of the shops can easily be found on Oxford St or Brent Cross. Its basically the same just on a larger scale. And the shops which were 'different' were too expensive (for my budget). However, one amazing thing about the new Westfield is the amount of shoe shops; usually most high streets are restricted to Office and the New Look shoe department. If you love crazy, super high heels, I promise you that you won't be disappointed by a shop called Linzi shoes. If you look at the website they look quite tacky, BUT trust me...some of them are jaw dropping in the flesh.

But anyways...back to me! (And what I wore today)

So I just went casual since Westfield is basically always pack up like carnival:

Me on the way in the car like an excited child. The lipstick is CoverGirl - 'divine divine', just in case anyone cares.

This outfit:

  • Leather and cotton black cardigan - FREE from New Look sample sale :)
  • Fifi Present The Factory t-shirt - River Island Xmas sale.
  • Blue pencil skirt - River Island £15 (buy a size smaller to get a tighter fit)
  • Black and green double tongue Converses - Office sale £25

Just realised I'm wearing mostly sale or free items. Can you tell though? What do you guys think of the outfit?

Took a few pictures of what my cousin was wearing. She wished to remain anonymous lol

Don't you just lust these velvet studded slippers from Topshop?! £28...they might be sold out already actually :/

After my Granddad made us roti...I love him.

P.S what I wore to Westfield last Sunday...since I obviously can't get enough of it.

  • Crochet fringed waistcoat - New Look
  • Black vest top - Topshop
  • Blue tube skirt - H&M
  • Polka dot tights River Island
  • Reebok hightops from America
  • Tartan heart bag - Urban Outfitter's in America.
That bag is my baby. FULL STOP.

Instagram. For the vain, artsy b*tches.

Hi guys.

Yes its been a while. Don't blame me, working with kids is EXHAUSTING.

But anyways as you may or may not know I finally got an iPhone 4 on Tuesday (before my crapberry blackberry contract had run out) and one of the first apps I downloaded was 'Instagram'. It's basically an app for taking and sharing photo's. But the thing that makes it kind of different is the fact that you can have different 'washes' over your photograph which changes the impact of said photo.

Here's one I did earlier (Blue Peter voice):

This is the BEFORE picture:

So erm...nothing special. Just me posing before work by the kitchen door (as you do). The lightings not too great and everything looks kind of orange/yellow.

Now for the AFTER photograph:

So it makes the photo look kind of 'old school', it's very artsy. And like the title suggests aswel as being 'artsy' I'm also extremely vain. So what I love about this is that its a not so obvious photoshop. Somehow I manage to look a little bit better, it changes the shade of my red lipstick, my skin looks  less shiny and even my forehead looks smaller. Ok, now I'm just making things up lol.

Here are a few more examples of how Instagram can make even the most average houseplant look like art.

Tottenham pavement.

Only houseplant I haven't killed.

Haven't used this since ALevel Art, 2008 lol

Doesn't it give my laptop that 1970s glow? lol

Oh yeah. Did I mention that it's free?

Available on iPhone, Android and crapberry
