Batty Riders.R.US

Batty riders are totally in. Not in the 'yardie' way. More in' vintage, ripped and studded Levi shorts' kind of way. I really want a pair but the fact that I'm not stick thin probably means I'll make them look extraordinarily slutty. Do I care though?

Oh yeah remember to wear with tights. Bum cheeks which hang out are not a great look; no matter how round and perky they are.

Check out some of my favourites below.

TOPSHOP.

MOTO Dip Dye Hotpant. £35

RIVER ISLAND

Ruby Red Studded Super Short Demin Hotpants. £35

ASOS

Skull Patchwork Denim Shorts. £30

Reverse Denim Cutoffs with American Flag. £45

Nastygal.com

Roller Cutoff Shorts - Jet Black. $100. These are basically like knickers but I love them anyway,

Let me know what you think. Are you brave enough to rock these? Which ones are your favourites?

Lots of love

Where's your head at?

This is a post about hair accessories. It was requested by a lovely reader so I thought I'd do my best to find some good ones. See if you like?

This is a black 'turband' from Nastygal.com for $25 which translates to roughly £16. Its worth it because the quality of the material looks more luxurious than you would find on the high street. I love it because I'd never be brave enough to rock a full turban so this a great 'meet in the middle' accessory. I would wear it exactly as the model is.

Next up is this Satin Encrusted Headband from River Island and its sold at £15. This is quite girly and normally I wouldn't go for something like this. However, I think you can use this in an unexpected way. Pair it with a 'grungy' looking outfit...think ripped denim hotpants, a baggy t-shirt and Dr Martens. Have your hair either dead straight or really messy.

This a Yellow Sunflower Garland Headband from River Island and it sells at £4. It very much fits into the whole 'festival look', so you can either wear it to brighten up your winter or save it for summer.

This is from River Island but sold on Asos for £13. I know this is a scarf, but my favourite thing to do is take scarves and turn them into headbands. First fold it into a triangle and then keep folding into a rectangle shape until the scarf is one straight line. Then wrap it around your head and tie at the front so that it creates a bow. Its a very 1950s look, so pair with red lipstick and gold hoop earrings. Some tattoos wouldn't go amiss either lol.

This Moschino Cheap & Chic 100% silk scarf from Asos is a bit pricey at £60, but I had to feature it because it was love at first sight. You would use this in the same way as the previous scarf...and just look at this print!

Last but not least is this Feather Cascading Hairband from Topshop and it sells at £8.50. You just tie a ponytail and then tie this over your initial hairband. Its not 'in your face' but is a great way of making a simple hairstyle a bit more exciting!

Hope you enjoyed? Which one was your favourite? Leave any comments below :D

Lots of love

Lusting After...Top 10

This is going to be a pretty simple post with minimal writing. Its just basically the top ten things I'm lusting after this month. I hope you enjoy! :)

£28 from JD. I don't care if Snapbacks are dead, or if everyone has one. I have my weave back so now I want one.

Multi-coloured shorts. £30 from River Island. So 90s.

YSL black and white logo t-shirt. $185 from their website. I MUST OWN THIS.

£16 from River Island. A simple skater skirt. Nice print. Even better price.

Jeffrey Campbell Wooden Wedges. $133 from nastygal.com. Love the colour.

Brand new Jeffrey Campbell wedges. Need I say anymore? Looks even better on a pair of feet lol.

Nude Sunglasses. £16 from Topshop. For those bright snowy days to come!

Premium Silk Shimmer Pleat Dip Hem Skirt. £65 from Topshop. I know....a lot of words to describe one item lol. I bet this feels amazing though.

£20 from Asos. You know I lust after leggings.

Thursday Friday Diamonds Red Tote. £70 from Asos. So it's basically just a canvas tote and its not really worth the money...but I haven't seen anything like it before. If I was rich, this would be bought without hesitation.

See ya later alligators!

Trap Me With A Trapper...

Sorry guys! Its been nearly a week since either of us last posted (I know....slacking), but I'm back!

And since it suddenly decided to get freezing cold over the weekend, I thought I should do a post on how I kept warm to and from work today. It was all about the Trapper hat. So for those that don't know, a Trapper hat is basically a fur or fur lined hat with ear flaps like so...

I bought this hat ages ago from the Men's department in H&M and it was only something like £5 at the most. I've been wanting to wear it for ages but had to wait until I got my weave back, because wearing a Trapper hat with no hair coming out from underneath looks kind of weird in my opinion. Unless you have the face to pull it off...which I basically don't. Trapper hats are guaranteed to keep you warm and are the comfiest things ever. Just make sure that when you wear it you dress it up, rather than wearing it with a hoodie and tracksuit bottoms :/

My make up look was pretty simple since I was at work today. I used:

  • MAC Mineralise Foundation in NC50
  • Sleek eyebrow pencil in dark brown
  • Beauty UK black liquid eyeliner
  • CoverGirl Blusher in Iced Plum
  • Sleek Lipstick in Pearl Wine.

I've also spotted some nice Trappers and other faux fur creations on the high street...

Topshop...£22
River Island...£20

Spirithoods...£99. For the adventurous ones.

What to wear to work...

Hey guys!

So I'm back from Florida like 3 shades darker (a good thing), and finally decided I would get back into the swing of things and write a blog post because I know you guys gave missed me dearly (not).

So some of you may know that I just started a new job at a secondary school as a teaching assistant. So...that basically means that I have to dress like an old lady waiting at a bus stop. Like seriously, on my first day the boss laid down the law: no bare arms, no cleavage, no denim, no leggings...yes the list unfortunately goes on. So what does the girl whose wardrobe basically consists of shorts, skirts and brightly coloured leggings do? Have panic attacks thats what. I'm actually feeling pretty depressed, because I feel like I'm suppressing my style for this job (although I do love it).

So...as some sort of continuation of the 'What to wear to interviews' blog post I've decided to try and wade through the wilderness, and see if I can make matronly fashionable. (I doubt it)

First up I spotted these trousers from Asos:

Yes, I'm a polka dot whore and I jizzed when I saw these. Going to wear it with my white lace up wedges...and perhaps this...

I mean yes there's a huge risk of looking like a clown. Or a huge risk of looking too matchy matchy. BUT picture it with a wedge heel, chunky bracelets, hot pink lipstick and dead straight hair. I'm actually salivating.

Ok some other options:

Thinking of wearing this with some chunky knit tights and block heels? Or is this too formal and matronly for a 21 year old? #argh! Maybe I could wear it with a leather jacket?

Erm I actullly love this. Are the 70s still in?! Do I really care? When have I ever.

So that kind of rounds it off for me. But guys I really do need your suggestions, because I am truly stuck in the mud at the moment.

Lots of love,

Winter Coats: Don't wait until its cold.

I know some may think it's too early to begin thinking about your winter coat, but trust me, its really not. And I'm not going to tell you to look out your window and think that its because of the rain that I'm telling you this. Because as we all know, the weather is a bi-polar bitch and it will be sunny by next week.

So, my main reason for telling you to start thinking about your winter coat now is because, they are the ultimate winter staple. When you're out and about, people don't see what you're wearing underneath (that new jumper, skirt, whatever...), they see your coat. Full Stop. End of.

So don't you want your coat to be a statement? To be something reflective of your personality? I sure do.

Another reason to start early is because you want to be first wearing the best stuff. If you love that new coat from Topshop, buy it before that cow up the road does, meaning that you no longer can. We all know the rules LOL.

Lets just go through whats 'in' for A/W 11...

Last year, it seemed like we were literally choking in a sea of shearling and faux fur coats. And while shearling is no longer so much on the radar, faux fur is...meaning that you are all lucky girls who get to recycle last years coats (assuming you had a fur to begin with). And this year, its not all about the full fur coats, but also focusing  on fur trim around the collar and sleeves.

Gucci has been a big inspiration for the coats you're soon to be seeing in a shop near you.

This Gucci coat which seems almost simple is updated with a purple fur trim. Its not all about browns and leopard prints this time around.

You can update a simple coat you already own, by visiting John Lewis or your local fabric shop, buying some fur trim and adding it to your collar by hand sewing with needle and thread, or using a sewing machine if you have one.

I also had a look through the Topshop A/W 11 collection:

I know some don't like to wear full coats in Winter. So, this black fur biker jacket is kinda the best of both worlds. Its edgy but will still keep you warmer than your average leather jacket. Also, texture on a jacket is a big attention grabber.

Yes, this is very 70s and I love it. Its also a statement, but 'not too much' if you know what I mean.

You can also continue the trend of colour blocking into your winter wardrobe :) I'm in love with this green fur scarf. This look is all about versitility; wear your coat two ways.

For those who are a little bit braver, you may want to go for a full fur coat, or perhaps an animal print:

£90 from River Island.

But like I've said before...because its leopard print be careful! Try not to wear this in an obvious, sexy way. Wear instead with distressed jeans and converses.

So, while the fur is your glamourous, sophisticated look, I also love a preppy look. And luckily for me, quilted jackets are still a good look...you can update the look by getting a quilted gilet instead.

Its also from River Island. Although at £40, its only £10 less than a full jacket. Not sure if that makes any sense at all lol.

A couple of other looks to choose from:

The Mackintosh a.k.a the Trench Coat

I've never owned a Mac, but I've always wanted to. And when I saw this Burberry inspired one in Topshop on Saturday I nearly jizzed. This Mac is kinda the perfect way of staying classy, but the leather edges it up a bit; means you can wear it in more ways.

See what I mean?!

Last but not least The Parka...for your 'trampy, its raining and I need to protect my freshly relaxed hair' days. For me, a hooded coat is a must in the Winter. But it doesn't always have to be a classic green. I really like this one from Asos...its on sale for £56.

After all my jabbering, has this inspired you to start shopping early? Or would you like me to disappear and come back in October? lol

Asos sale is on biatches!

Ok so usually when ASOS spam my email throughout the day I tend to ignore it, mainly because I'm always broke like a joke. However since my mother dearest has given me some money to buy holiday clothes for Florida (don't jealous me lol), I actually paid attention to their spam this morning...announcing that their summer sale has now started. Cue hyperventilation.

So I just wanted to share my purchases with you guys. Managed to get my order down to £54...from £208, and officially burnt out all my brain cells doing it. Bare in mind that these are all for holiday so I won't actually be walking around Tottenham with my ass cheeks hanging out lol.

So first of all are these wedges which I found for £20. And yeah they're nothing spectacular but they are a great pair of daytime heels which I'll actually be able to walk in for more than an hour. And because they're khaki, they'll pretty much go with everything I own.
Next up were two pairs of jersey culottes. The first pair was £9 while the other was £10. I think I decided to go with jersey simply because they stretch as you eat. And I bloody love to eat. Also I'm trying to experiment with prints, rather than always wearing denim or black on the bottom.

Lastly, I got a pair of white palazzo trousers for £15. Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, Covergirl. I don't know why I just said that, but its what they make me think of. They're just really really easy to wear, and hopefully I won't need to iron them.

I recommend you all get online before all the popular sizes run out. Happy shopping!
